The StM foil blades have an optimal weight of different parts for fencers. They are completely symmetric about the wire.

A SEMI FIE technical committee regulated standard rigidity test with an 80-gramme weight has showed that the sag of span of foil blades is 50-80 mm. The blades are produced with a long shank of 170 mm for a French handle, or with a short shank of 70 mm for a pistol-handle.

The blades marked “StM-FIE” and “StM-FIE N” are the ones that have passed through a certification by the SEMI FIE technical committee. They are officially registered by FIE and recommended for use on any official competitions, including the “World Cup” legs, the World Championships, and the Olympic Games.

The “StM-FIE” blades went through homologation in April 2000 with an average cyclic weariness indicator of 46569 cycles, which 2.5 times more than the FIE norm. The SEMI FIE committee certificate #0001 of 11.05.2000.

You can read more detailed information about the official certifications in the FIE Certificates page of our site.
